2. PURPOSE AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS
These General Terms (hereafter, the “Terms”) govern access to and use of www.wabol.es, as well as the relationship between WABOL and the users and members who participate in its activities.
WABOL organises walking football sessions and other adapted sporting activities, primarily for older people, at its own or partner facilities. Activities take place in a recreational, community setting, with regular sessions throughout the week.
Accessing and using the website, or registering as a WABOL member, implies that these Terms have been read, understood and accepted in full. WABOL reserves the right to amend them at any time by publishing the updated version on the website, stating its effective date.
3. ACCESS TO AND USE OF THE WEBSITE
3.1. General access
Access to www.wabol.es is free and generally does not require prior registration. Certain features may require prior identification as a WABOL member.
3.2. User obligations
The user undertakes to use the website in accordance with the law, accepted moral standards and these Terms, and in particular to:
- Not use the website for fraudulent or unlawful purposes, or purposes contrary to these Terms.
- Not attempt to access restricted areas or systems without authorisation.
- Not reproduce or commercially exploit website content without WABOL’s express written authorisation.
- Not introduce or distribute computer viruses or other malicious code.
4. INTELLECTUAL AND INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY
All website content—including text, photographs, videos, graphics, logos, designs, source code and databases—is the exclusive property of WABOL or of third parties who have authorised its use, and is protected by Spanish and international intellectual and industrial property law.
Full or partial reproduction, adaptation, public communication or distribution of this content without WABOL’s prior written consent is expressly prohibited.
5. REGISTRATION AND MEMBERSHIP TERMS
5.1. How to register
Registration as a WABOL member may be requested through the following channels:
- In person: by going directly to the WABOL pitch on a session day. A WABOL representative will assist the applicant there.
- By telephone: by calling +34 698 981 510.
- By email: by writing to union@wabol.es.
Admission as a member is subject to assessment and approval by WABOL, which may refuse it or make it conditional on objective criteria relating to suitability for the activity or availability of places. Available membership plans will be communicated to the applicant during registration and will be subject to the terms in force at that time.
5.2. Registration requirements
When requesting registration, the applicant declares, under their own responsibility, that:
- They are of legal age and have full legal capacity to be bound by these Terms.
- Their physical condition and health are suitable for walking exercise. WABOL recommends consulting a doctor if in doubt.
- The information provided is truthful, accurate and complete.
- They have read and fully accept these Terms.
5.3. Fees, payments and insurance
The applicable periodic fees are those stated by WABOL at the time of contracting. WABOL reserves the right to change fees at any time and to set individual fees for particular members according to their circumstances. Changes will be communicated to the affected member through WABOL’s usual channels.
Each member is responsible for having their own insurance covering medical, hospital and accident expenses arising from physical activity. WABOL does not guarantee coverage of these expenses. However, at the member’s request and at its discretion, WABOL may facilitate or assist with access to an accident insurance policy, without assuming any obligation to provide coverage.
5.4. Duration and renewal
Membership covers the paid period and renews automatically for equal periods unless the member gives notice of cancellation at least fifteen (15) calendar days before the current period expires.
5.5. Voluntary cancellation
The member may request cancellation in person, by telephone or by email to union@wabol.es. The request must be made at least fifteen (15) days before the current subscription expires. Requests received with less notice will apply to the following period. Cancellations will not take effect retrospectively.
5.6. Suspension and expulsion
WABOL may temporarily or permanently suspend a member’s right to participate in the event of a breach of these Terms, disrespect towards referees, other participants or spectators, or conduct contrary to harmonious coexistence.
Very serious offences resulting in permanent expulsion include verbal or physical violence, bad faith, deception, conduct contrary to socially accepted standards, moral or material harm caused to WABOL or other members, unauthorised commercial activities during sessions, or any conduct classified as a criminal offence under applicable law.
Expulsion does not release the offender from the obligation to compensate for the damage caused.
6. RULES OF PLAY
WABOL sessions follow specific walking football rules. The fundamental rules are as follows:
- Running is strictly prohibited. The referee alone determines whether a player is running.
- Physical contact with other players is prohibited.
- Showing anger towards the referee, opponents, spectators or your own teammates is prohibited.
- Players are expected to treat the activity as a recreational sport, keeping competitiveness within reasonable limits and demonstrating sportsmanship.
- The maximum number of touches per player is two (2) or three (3), as determined by the relevant session format.
- The ball may not be raised above head height.
The rules are explained verbally by referees and WABOL representatives during sessions on the pitch. Not knowing the rules does not excuse non-compliance.
The referee is the highest authority during sessions, and their decisions cannot be appealed during play.
7. BIOMETRIC DATA PROCESSING AND ATTENDANCE MONITORING
NOTICE: This section describes the processing of biometric data (facial recognition), which is a special category of personal data with enhanced protection under Article 9 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Participation in this system requires the data subject’s explicit, informed consent.
7.1. Description of the system
To manage access to WABOL sessions and maintain accurate attendance records, WABOL uses a computerised facial recognition system. It automatically identifies the members present at each session by analysing their facial features.
The system works as follows:
- Initial registration: when a new member joins WABOL, a representative photographs their face. This image is added to WABOL’s private, secure system, where the member’s facial biometric patterns are extracted and stored.
- Attendance monitoring: at the end of each session, WABOL takes a group photograph of the participants. The system automatically processes this photograph, identifies the members present and records their attendance. This record enables membership plans to be managed and each member’s actual participation to be verified.
7.2. Category and legal basis of processing
Biometric data (facial patterns extracted from photographs) is special-category data under Article 9 of the GDPR because it enables the unique identification of a natural person.
The legal basis for processing is the data subject’s explicit consent, in accordance with Article 9(2)(a) of the GDPR. Express, informed consent is obtained at registration, before any biometric capture or processing occurs. Consent is voluntary: refusal will not prevent participation in WABOL sessions, although WABOL may establish alternative attendance monitoring mechanisms in that case.
7.3. Purpose and proportionality
Biometric data is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- Managing attendance at WABOL sessions.
- Verifying the validity and suitability of each participant’s membership plan.
- Ensuring the security and integrity of facilities and sessions.
It will not be used for any other purpose or shared with third parties, except where required by law.
7.4. Security and storage
Biometric data is stored in a private, secure system, accessible only to authorised WABOL personnel. Technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk level of this data category are applied, in accordance with Articles 25 and 32 of the GDPR.
7.5. Retention period
Biometric data (photographs and facial patterns) will be retained while the data subject remains a WABOL member, or until they withdraw consent. Once the relationship ends or the right to erasure is exercised, biometric data will be deleted or irreversibly anonymised (see section 9.5 of this document).
8. COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTED BY ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
WABOL may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems to handle communications by email, instant messaging (such as WhatsApp) and telephone. In all cases, WABOL fulfils the legal obligation to inform users when they are interacting with an AI system rather than a person.
8.1. Use of AI in communications
To offer more responsive and available assistance, WABOL may use AI systems developed by external providers (such as OpenAI or Anthropic) to answer queries and manage incoming communications. This may include:
- Replying to emails sent to union@wabol.es.
- Handling messages received through instant messaging platforms.
- Assistance with telephone calls to +34 698 981 510.
8.2. Right to be informed and identification of the interlocutor
In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 of the European Parliament and of the Council (the EU Artificial Intelligence Act) and applicable Spanish law, when the interlocutor is an AI system, WABOL will clearly state this at the start of the communication or whenever the user requests it.
The user has the right to request at any time that a human handle their query. WABOL will fulfil this request as promptly as possible.
8.3. Acceptance by contacting WABOL
By initiating any communication with WABOL through any of its channels—email, telephone, instant messaging or others—the user declares that they have read and understood these Terms, including specifically the possibility that their query may be handled wholly or partly by an AI system. Initiating communication implies acceptance of this provision.
The above does not in any way limit the user’s right to request human assistance during any interaction, or their information rights under applicable legislation. These Terms are permanently available free of charge at www.wabol.es, where users may consult them before initiating any communication.
8.3. Data processing in AI communications
Conversations with WABOL’s AI systems may be processed by their providers (OpenAI, Anthropic or others). In these cases, WABOL applies the GDPR’s contractual safeguards for data processors, including confidentiality clauses and prohibitions on using data for purposes other than providing the service.
Users’ personal data will not be used to train third-party providers’ AI models without the data subject’s express consent.

9.4. Data recipients
WABOL will not share personal data with third parties, except in the following cases:
- Service providers required to deliver the activity (banks, technological platforms for membership management and attendance monitoring), acting as processors in accordance with Article 28 of the GDPR.

Once your identity is verified, all your data will be anonymised, including deletion of your facial photographs and associated biometric patterns.
If you consider that your rights have not been properly respected, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
9.6. Minors
WABOL’s services and website are intended exclusively for people over 18. WABOL does not knowingly collect data from minors. If it becomes aware that a minor has provided data without the consent of their legal guardians, the data will be deleted immediately.
